Let me ask you a question:
Are you living your dream, or dreaming your dream?
If you have big, inspiring dreams for a fantastic online business that is going to bring you happiness, success and fulfilment, then treat this website as your place of sanctuary.
It’s a home for you to connect with other like-minded entrepreneurs, and it’s a place to learn how to take your business from dream to reality.
I’m Lauren, and I’m the founder of From Corporate To Career Freedom (my blog about entrepreneurship) and LaurenLambie.com (my business website). I launched this blog with a very simple purpose in mind: to share with other inspiring entrepreneurs everything I wish I had known when I launched my own business.
Since 2006 I’ve worked in the web. I’ve worked for digital agencies and high tech startups, because I love the web and I love startup businesses. I’ve had the opportunity to work for some of the most amazing clients and some very high profile web projects, including big names like the BBC, Worldvision (great charity: check them out), The British Government, investment banks…..it’s a long list. I’ve also worked with hundreds of small startups, looking to build their first online presence. But, as my career developed, I moved into high positions, management positions, and found myself surrounded by corporate speak, charts and graphs, metrics, and reports.
And I wondered: how did I get here? Because in my dreams, I’d always seen myself living a very different life by the time I’d hit my thirties. Since my teens, I had ambitions to run my own business. Yet here I was, working for someone else’s dream, and not really enjoying it.
So I decided to start my own business.
So in the process of figuring out what to do after I said goodbye to my safety net. I started a business on maternity leave, fine-tuning the art of breastfeeding a newborn whilst reading business articles on an ipod at the same time. It was a pretty crazy time. I made a lot of mistakes. I wasted a lot of time pursuing the wrong strategies. But I’ve never looked back. Despite the craziness, the late nights, and the hair-tearing episodes, it was all worth it.
If I could have taken my steps along a short, easier path to get where I am today, I would have done. I wish I had known someone at that time with the experience and knowledge to show me how to achieve those big dreams. And so that’s exactly why i created this blog, to help entrepreneurs like you. I’ll help you take your inspired ideas, your big dreams, and turn them into a successful, thriving online business.
A short note about recommendations on my site In my blog posts and downloads I may list tools and resources that I personally recommend. Some of these are companies that I am affiliated with, which means I get paid a commission for referrals. However, I only ever affiliate myself with businesses that 1) I’ve used personally in my business 2) have a great track record for supporting entrepreneurs 3) I genuinely like and would recommend – even to a family member!
