How To Create A Trustworthy Reputation

Starting your first business opens the door to many challenges that you have to overcome as an e entrepreneur, rather than an employee. Issues such as establishing a trustworthy reputation as an employee refer to detailing your work achievements and gathering positive feedback both within the company and on visible platforms, such as LinkedIn.

When you’re an entrepreneur, your reputation is tightly connected to the business image. As such, demonstrating to your audience that they can trust you is both a matter for business survival and professional credibility. The bottom line? LinkedIn recommendations are unlikely to convince potential buyers. Instead, you need to make your knowledge and expertise visible and beyond questioning.

Make sure you’ve got the relevant skills

There is no secret. As an entrepreneur, you are your own brand. You can’t afford not to have the necessary skills. For solo entrepreneurs, especially, this means being willing to take on more training courses, such as learning the basics of working on an elevated work platform for projects on building sites. As a digital marketer, you may want to explore courses that introduce you to coding and programming languages, as most digital tools rely on JavaScript. If you’re going to be credible, you need to explore skill sets that can give you a competitive edge.

Let other people tell your success

Word of mouth is, by far, the most effective marketing strategy. Let other people tell your audience about your achievements and success. Gathering great customer testimonials can not only help to convince others to buy, but it also strengthens your reputation as an expert. Yet, your 5-star review on Google Maps or Facebook can fail to impress. Users are savvy, and many suspect that reviews are easy to fake. Therefore, if you’re going to convince, you need to work closely with your customers to create engaging content. A video testimonial, such as on YouTube can add weight to the review.

Leverage client testimonials

There’s another advantage to video reviews. You can use them as part of your content marketing. Publishing videos on your website drives both engagement and credibility. It’s also a fantastic medium to share a story, making videos a brilliant channel for social media advertising. Did you know that you can grow your brand awareness using Facebook Ads? Conversion rates tend to be high for campaigns that can grab the attention in a few seconds, such as a bright image or a video. Using the filmed testimonial you can kill two birds with one stone, aka making your brand known and trusted via only one marketing trick!

Share your expertise

When you apply for a job, you can use your CV to prove your expertise. When you’re an entrepreneur, you need to find other strategies to showcase your experience and knowledge. Nobody is going to read through your professional history. However, if you share your knowledge and tips on relevant topics via a blog, vlog or even a podcast, you can build a reputation as a knowledgeable brand.
